Why Choose Adventure Bound Summer Camp?
When you choose Adventure Bound Summer Camp you are not embarking on a regular summer camp experience!
At Adventure Bound Summer Camp, we offer the excitement of an adventure travel camp with the comfort of a base camp that serves as a “home away from home.” When at base the campers can rest, relax, and gear up for their next big adventure. Campers will have access to all the amenities Adventure Bound has to offer including the meal hall, game room, 30-foot indoor climbing wall, movie theater, outdoor heated pool, 24-person hot tub, laundry facilities, volleyball court, basketball court and baseball field.
We offer a memorable, fun and unique approach to cooperative training, leadership skills and personal development. Using a ‘hands on’ approach, participants are encouraged through a variety of activities: whitewater kayaking lessons, extended wilderness backpacking excursions, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, high and low ropes courses, mountain biking, fly-fishing, sea kayaking, and wilderness survival skills.
There are other reasons for you to choose Adventure Bound Summer Camp:
- Earn a Junior Maine Guide License.
- Learn to shoot/edit adventure videos and photos.
- Learn how to locate the major constellations, as well as the history behind each one.
- Learn to make a fire with a natural bow drill set or flint and steel.
- Learn about the natural environment, local plants and animals, and gain a greater understanding of the impact we have on our natural world.
Due to the inherent risks involved in participating in our program we understand the safety concerns surrounding adventure sports. The owners and director have over 35 years experience in the industry, and have safety on the top of their priority list.
Safety
Adventure Bound Inc. has an impeccable safety record over the last 10 years of operating high adventure wilderness trips. During each of our activities, safety is the basic building block to learning the skills necessary to enjoy oneself in the wilderness. Our staff team goes through an extensive training program to become skilled in teaching safety protocol for each activity and obtain a Registered Maine Guides license. Counselors are required to have a wilderness first responder, or wilderness EMT certifications to ensure the safety of campers in their care. Emergency plans, and emergency phones are carried with the counselors at all times during trips. These plans cover emergency contact numbers, on call staff at base in charge of assisting evacuations, evacuation routes, and directions to the closest advanced medical center. |
