Make sure to plan your activities in advance. Check the weather forecast to ensure you’re prepared for any conditions.   3. Teach your kids about nature

    Camping is a great opportunity to teach your kids about the natural world. Take a nature walk with your kids and teach them about the river valley and forest with a nature scavenger hunt (download pdf). Adventure Bound also offers interpretive hiking trails along the Kennebec Adventure Bound dock on the Kennebec riverriver that connect right to the camping area.  Purchase a Maine fishing license and bring your own gear to fish off the dock in the evening.

  4. Pack appropriately

    Make sure to pack everything you need for your trip, including a first aid kit, insect repellent, sunscreen, and plenty of warm clothing. Adventure Bound also has a small souvenir shop with sweatshirt and t-shirt options, candy, and s’mores supplies.  If there are any last-minute items you may have forgotten, up the road is Berry’s general store, and 30 minutes south is Jimmy’s market.   5. Take advantage of campground amenities

    No one can say “I’m bored”!!  Adventure Bound offers a variety of amenities for families, including a volleyball court, basketball court, 9 hole disc golf, 4′ foot outdoor pool, hot tub and more! The campground also has a game room, WiFi in the activity center, and a campfire area where you can gather with other campers for s’mores.

  6. Leave the cooking to us

    Adventure Bound offers a variety of meal options for breakfast, lunch and dinner server in our adventure center.  Or bring  you own coolers and food, just as you normally would on a camping trip.  Our propane grills and outdoors food tent are available for communal use.  Or visit a few of the local restaurants in town such as Northern Outdoors.
