Become a Registered Maine Guide
Each season we employ between 40-50 full and part-time Maine Guides and support staff for our operations. Every May we provide a training program that will prepare you to become a licensed Maine Whitewater Guide.
As the face of our company, we have high expectations for our staff. The standards we follow are critical to the effective delivery of great outdoor programs for our young guests. You will be expected to bring a unique mix of high energy, responsible critical thinking skills and a strong desire to share your love of the Maine Wilderness with our young guests. We provide a unique environment for working with young people and their families.

Become a Guide
- The 2026 dates for guide training are May 17th – 24th.
- Learn the skills to guide whitewater, rock climbing, ropes courses, and other outdoor leadership activities.
- An ideal job for college students, teachers and seasonal workers looking to work outdoors.
- First Aid & CPR Certification is required before arrival
- Rafting season runs May – October. Flexible scheduling for students and teacher.
- Cabin Tent staff housing for summer available onsite.
- The fee for the Guide Training is $300. The cost of the program includes the use of all necessary equipment, use of a wetsuit, all necessary books and handouts, and instruction by professional guides with years of training experience. Cabin tent housing, as well as a bag lunch is provided throughout the training program.
- Maine Guide exam administered by IF&W on day seven of the course $100 3-Year License fee $89
